A SEVERA CELTS – A very popular and intriguing word with the historic misconception of being either the Portuguese or Latin language. If it is not either of these, then from which language would one suppose the origins of this word CELT would be derived? Plus this simple word CELT has an even more intriguing acronym of ‘Connecting Europe’s Lost Tribes’, which is the sole purpose of this correspondence. We wish to inform the entire Portuguese community (both local and migrant) of the ‘truth’ about their connection to the CELTS and CELTIC CULTURE. Amalia Rodrigues The Voice of Lusitania is the ‘messenger’ and Celtic Fado is the ‘medium’. From recent history we learn that the modern era has had three distinct Fado voices. In the 19th Century we had Severa (1820-1846), such an indelible impact for such a short life. She was accreditated for having awakened Fado from many years of hybination. In the 20th Century we were blessed with the magic of Amalia(1920-1999). This Fadista was very much respected for taking Portuguese Fado to the world. Now in the 21st Century we have discovered Emilia and she ‘is’ The Voice of Lusitania. Emilia has been chosen as our first ‘voice’. The first of many to be chosen to work together and affirm the current Celtic Renainssance happening in every Celtic counrty.

When Amalia, passed to the ‘otherworld’ in 1999, our young Emilia was only seven years of age.
