For at least the last decade combat-sports have been the fastest growing global television phenomena. Five-years-ago the ‘financial explosion’ actually began in Australia with a multi-million-dollar Super-fight at ETIHAD STADIUM MELBOURNE (15th November 2015).
Featuring at that time, the worlds’ most famous female fighter Rhonda Rousey securing 1.1 million on American pay-per-view (To the value of approximately US $60m with AU $120m Victorian Government economy boost due to tourism injection from the weekend fight card).
Etihad Stadium Management spokesperson, Bill Lane confirmed that a capacity 56,000 ticket buying fans set a venue record value of $9.5 million gate receipts for this event.
Followed less than a year later (11th July 2016) with the sale of UFC to WME – IMG – International Management Group, for an all-time sports’ financial record of 4.0 Billion.
Then a year later (26th August 2017), came these new owners Floyd Mayweather & Conor McGregor – controversial event billed as “The Biggest Fight in Combat Sports History” and drawing the attention of the entire world fight-fan fraternity (Capturing 4.3 million domestic pay-per-views @ US $98.50 ea.), with many hundreds of millions of dollars in prizemoney.
By the end of the financial year (30th July 2018) Dana White predicted his UFC Company income from Television contracts, national sponsorships, venue ticket sales, venue advertising, general merchandising and p-p-v will in the near future top ONE billion dollars annually. Dana could not have had any idea the coronavirus devastation was forthcoming.
Then in (March 2019) ESPN outbid Rupert Murdoch FOXSPORTS with a 1.5 Billion seven year UFC contract. Now just two years into this ESPN Partnership (March 2021), and as a result of their exclusive Dana White pay-per-view deal, UFC has acquired the current estimated value of 7.0 Billion. All of this unbelievable financial success having had its beginnings here in AUSTRALIA and no one has locally capitalized on all of this abundance… until NOW!!!

Three episodes later and by the final episode 13, “onlyONEwins” will have eliminated down from these three Champions to only having ‘ONE TRIATHLON CHAMPION’.
