Mark Connell

BJMA Affiliated Club: Connell Muay Thai, Point Cook VIC

I trained in Melbourne initially then moved to Central Victoria where I became the Head Instructor with my wife Julie, for Bendigo and surrounding areas for 25 years. We started our own clubs producing over 100 junior and senior black belts and black singlets.

We hosted successful tournaments for over many years as well as school and prison programs.

We have trained around Australia and overseas in Japan, Bali, Myanmar and many times in Thailand.

Moving to Melbourne we changed direction and opened Kidz Kickboxing and Muay Thai classes as well as personal training.

My passion is to continue teaching and training as long as I can to keep my body and mind sharp.

I encourage you to never give up your training, find your own way and rely on yourself.

To those starting out, look around and train at other clubs, gather information, open your eyes and mould your knowledge into a style that is your own.

• State-wide Grading Coordinator for 4 years (Victoria)
• Co-writer Kidz Karate Curriculum.
• Member of the team to create the state-wide Kidz only training days (Victoria)
